Saying goodbye to "The Lumen"

"The Lumen", AKA "The LOOOMEN" (in lieu of "ooooh, Fancyyyy") is my apartment (condo) in Seattle that I bought in April 2007. I hadn't even been there a whole year when I found out I was moving so I'm very sad to say goodbye. The unit has amazing views of Seattle and the Space Needle. The building is not actually 100% finished yet- it's missing furniture in the common areas, and the greatly anticipated 'Fire Pit'... Hopefully next time I return to Seattle I can snap some pics of these in all their finished glory).

Also the retail level still wasn't opened that will have shops like Office Max. (people still buy office supplies from stores?!) There's also a 24hr QFC supermarket on the ground floor that has been open since June 2007. I'll definitely miss the quick run downstairs to stock up on drinks during parties. "More Prosecco anyone? I'll be right back- just running to my wine cellar!". Visit the building's (very green and Flash-heavy) website to see their vision: http://www.lumenlife.com/

Anyway I've had some great times in this apartment; lot's dinners and drinks parties...I got to host 'brunch' a few times too...

Random thought: Mmm. brunch. Brunch is my favourite meal of the day- so social, perfectly timed and of course any meal that can feature bacon is a winner in my book. Work days should start after brunch as rule.

Do you have a fond memory of my place? Write a comment (and um, yeah, only the 'rated PG stuff' of course hehe)

My parents got to visit it too, in April 2007, right when I moved in and got to help me move in. My mum even got to cook some fantastic Indian dinners there. They loved looking out the window at the construction going on across the street at the Gates Foundation headquarters. The building promises to be an icon in Seattle and I'm lucky my unit will have an unobstructed view of it when it's completed in a few years (perhaps I'll return in time for that and get to enjoy that view?!).

Some Lumen shout outs! Aimee and John for helping me carry all the furniture up the stairs as the elevator broke right as I pulled up in the moving truck, Greg for helping me load and drive the darn truck all the way over from Bellevue and Jordan for helping me decorate and design the interior- (PS your interior layout was altogether transposed to Sydney!)

Some shots of the condo (staged for when I was trying to rent it out!)-
